KingsHeart Church

Following a recent name change and rebrand,
KingsHeart Church asked Webx to build their new look website,
to help promote their diverse range of services, in church and the wider community.

What functionality did their website require?

Requirement

The church wanted to integrate their website with social networks – for broadcast, blogs, and social networks. They also wanted the ability to make changes to their websites’ imagery/text/audio/video, as and when they needed to.

Our solution

We facilitated this request by building their website in a Content Management System (CMS).

Requirement

The church wanted the ability to manage online audio/video sermons.

Our solution

We facilitated this request by utilising Joomla’s core articles and Ark Suites Ark Media Manager component. This also allowed us to implement links to youtube for the broadcast of sermons via social media.

Requirement

The church wanted remote access to church office documents and files to facilitate a more flexible and efficient administration.

Our solution

We utilised Google’s Apps Suite (equivalent to an online Microsoft Office). This also facilitated online church membership subscription, granting password protected access to online sermons, and a second password access to more confidential pages.

To further enhance the intranet functionality, we reconfigured Ark’s Media Manager to read files uploaded from the google drive. This would negate their need to upload and download content.

"In this visual age an image speaks a thousand words ... they can make or break a website before you even read a line."

Visual requirements

Requirement

The church wanted the site to be visually clear and concise.

"... poorly positioned text can be the difference between quickly acquired answers and getting bogged down in a verbal quagmire."

Our solution

In this visual age an image speaks a thousand words. We therefore know the importance of choosing images wisely. They can make or break a website before you even read a line. They can create breathing space between text or they can stifle text, just as well and poorly positioned text can be the difference between quickly acquired answers and getting bogged down in a verbal quagmire. A website should entertain. It shouldn’t make the user work. A good page layout offers as much direction as a navigation bar. We wanted to instil these principles in the layout of Kingsheart’s website.
